2. The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious, technically strong and entrepreneurial Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join CLM AI as an early member of our founding technology team, working remotely from New York City.

This is an opportunity to help shape the AI capabilities of an emerging media and technology platform as it develops from its existing MVP towards a planned commercial launch in 2027.

Working directly with the Founder & CEO and collaborating with the founding software engineering team, the successful candidate will help design, develop and integrate AI-powered features across the CLM AI ecosystem.

A key area of focus will be the development of intelligent digital personalities and creator experiences, including conversational AI, AI-assisted content creation, voice technologies and integrations with third-party generative AI services.

The role will involve evaluating AI models and frameworks, building prototypes, developing reliable AI pipelines and translating promising technologies into practical product features.

We are looking for someone who combines strong machine learning and AI engineering fundamentals with product thinking, commercial awareness and a genuine interest in the future of generative AI.

As an early technical hire, you will have the opportunity to influence CLM AI's AI architecture, technical standards and product roadmap from the outset.

3. Key ResponsibilitiesAI Engineering & Product Development

• Design, develop and integrate AI capabilities into CLM AI's web applications and digital experiences.
• Translate product concepts and business objectives into practical AI engineering solutions.
• Research, evaluate and implement suitable AI models, frameworks, APIs and supporting technologies.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations to assess technical feasibility and commercial value.
• Improve the reliability, performance and usability of existing AI-enabled product features.
• Work with the Founder & CEO and Software Engineer to prioritise and deliver the AI product roadmap.
• Help establish the technical foundations required for a commercially viable AI-powered platform.

Generative AI & Large Language Models

• Integrate and optimise large language model (LLM) APIs for conversational and interactive applications.
• Develop prompt engineering strategies, structured outputs and context-management approaches.
• Evaluate model quality, latency, reliability and cost across alternative AI providers.
• Design retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows and knowledge retrieval systems where appropriate.
• Explore AI agent frameworks and tool-calling capabilities where they provide meaningful product value.
• Implement suitable safeguards against hallucinations, prompt injection, inappropriate outputs and unintended model behaviour.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure the quality and consistency of AI-generated responses.

Digital Personalities & Creator AI

• Help develop AI-powered digital personalities and interactive creator experiences for the CLM AI platform.
• Explore approaches to creating consistent character identities, conversational styles and personality traits.
• Integrate suitable voice, avatar and multimedia technologies into interactive digital experiences.
• Investigate methods for combining text, voice and visual AI capabilities into cohesive user journeys.
• Support the development of personalised experiences that reflect appropriate creator-approved content, tone and identity.
• Evaluate technologies for real-time or near-real-time conversational interaction.
• Work with the Founder & CEO to translate creator and audience requirements into technically feasible AI features.
• Ensure that digital personality implementations respect appropriate consent, licensing, privacy and creator usage permissions.

AI Models, APIs & Technical Integrations

• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI services, including language, speech, image, video and other generative media APIs.
• Build reusable services and abstractions for interacting with different AI providers.
• Develop model-selection strategies based on capability, reliability, latency, scalability and cost.
• Manage API integrations, error handling, retries, rate limits and service availability.
• Assess when existing third-party models are preferable to custom model development.
