About Salesforce
The Experience
- Join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, where you work alongside Infrastructure and Research and Development partners to keep Salesforce cloud services available for customers around the clock.
- With Agentforce woven into every layer of our platform, you help build resilient systems that millions of customers depend on every day.
- This role is based in Herndon, VA and is eligible for an onsite work arrangement.
- Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Monitor customer-facing services and respond to Severity 0 and Severity 1 incidents, leading technical reviews and contributing to root cause analyses.
- Automate the detection and resolution of recurring production issues to reduce repetitive manual work.
- Contribute to compliance, resiliency, and self-healing initiatives, including destructive testing and resiliency drills.
- Partner with and mentor teammates to stay current on industry technology and drive team development.
You're Our Person If...
- You have experience in enterprise-scale internet service engineering or support, with hands-on experience using the command line on Unix variants, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- You have experience with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking technologies and protocols.
- You have experience with incident management in a 24/7 environment.
- You write scripts in Python, Go, or similar languages and have experience provisioning and operating Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
Even Better If...
- You have a solid understanding of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service operations.
- You have experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet, and pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or Spinnaker.
- You have hands-on experience supporting and managing Kubernetes-based applications and services.
- You hold certifications in Linux+, Red Hat, or AWS.
- You are familiar with Agile processes and DevOps practices.
Changes to know about
- I moved ITIL to "Even Better If" because the guide says required qualifications should be findable on a resume.
- "You're Our Person If..." still has four bullets, per the guide's limit.
- "Even Better If..." now has five bullets, because I added ITIL. The guide's four-bullet limit covers responsibilities and required qualifications, so this is fine, but you can trim one if you want.
- I wrote out "Severity 0 and Severity 1" and removed the "(Sev0)/(Sev1)" acronyms, since they weren't used again.
This candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship and agrees to complete a U.S. federal government Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position. This position requires a USA TS/SCI with Polygraph security access level.
